Configuring server management

components

Altos R920 system provides an upgrade path to advanced server

management capabilities through installation of the following

components.

• I/O expansion module

• ARMC/3 R2 module

Installing and removing the I/O expansion module

The optional I/O expansion module is a vertical riser with a dedicated

management Ethernet port, and additional dual-gigabit Ethernet

ports.

To install the I/O expansion module:

1 Perform the pre-installation instructions described on page 39.

2 Rotate the retention latch on the rear of the card slot upward (A).

3 Pull up the slot cover (B).

4 Remove the board from its protective packaging.

5 Align the board in the empty slot (C).
