Printer Configuration

This chapter describes how to configure the printer by selecting operating parameters that can be stored in the printer's memory. These operating parameters are known as features and values. By selecting the correct operating parameters, you ensure that the printer can communicate properly with the host computer and application software.

You configure the DEClaser 2100 printer by selecting an appropriate set of values from a group of printer setup menus. You make these selections while the printer is in Menu Mode. Once values are selected you can save them in the appropriate type of memory. Saving features in the proper type of memory allows you to retain most printer values so that the printer has to be configured only once. Figure 4–1 shows a sample menu from Test Print A, with its features and values.
