Removing and Installing Switching and Services ModulesThis section describes how to install a switching or services module in slot 2 of
the Cisco MDS 9216 Switch. Slot1 is reserved for the supervisor module with its
integrated 16-port switching module. Slot 2 can contain an optional 16-port or
32-port switching module or a services module such as an 8-port IPS module. See
Figure 1-1 for slot locations.
