Step 2 Remove the Flash disk from the PRP card and install it into slot 1 of the active RP. The following message will be displayed; do not format the disk.

22:21:31: %PCMCIAFS-5-DIBERR: PCMCIA disk 1 is formatted from a different router or PC. A format in this router is required before an image can be booted from this device

Note If your router is running an image prior to Cisco IOS Release 12.0(25)S2, you are advised to insert the Flash disk into slot 1 of the standby RP, and not the active RP.

Step 3 Verify the disk contents using the dir disk1: command (or the dir stby-disk1:command if the Flash disk is in the standby RP).
