Definition

The netmask of the subnetwork where the host resides.

Note: Use CIDR notation, nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn/

nn.The IP number followed by a slash and the number of ‘one’ bits in the binary notation of the netmask. For example, 192.168.0.0/24 indicates an IP address where the first 24 bits are used as the network address. This is the same as 255.255.255.0.

You need to generate a public key for the KVM/net and find out the key used on the remote gateway. You can use copy and paste to enter the key in the “RSA Key” field.

Pre-shared password between left and right users.

The boot action configured for the host, either

 

Ignore, Add, Start.

 

 

4.Select the OK button when done.

SNMP

Short for Simple Network Management Protocol, SNMP is a set of protocols for managing network devices. SNMP works by sending messages, called protocol data units (PDUs), to different parts of a network. SNMP-compliant devices (agents), store data about themselves in Management Information Bases (MIBs) and return this data to the SNMP requesters.

The KVM/net uses the Net-SNMP package (http://www.net-snmp.org/). The Net-SNMP package contains various tools relating to the Simple Network Management Protocol including an extensible agent, an SNMP library, tools to request or set information from SNMP agents, tools to generate and handle
