Field Name

Trap Number

The trap types listed in the drop-down menu

 

translates to a trap number in the system logs.

Community

A Community defines an access environment.

 

The type of access is classified under

 

“Permission”: either read only or read write.

 

The most common community is “public”.

 

Take caution in using a “public” community

 

name as it is commonly known.

Server

The SNMP server’s IP address or DNS name.

Body

The text you want sent in the trap message.

 

 

Host Tables

The Host Tables form enables you to keep a table of host names and IP addresses that comprise your local network, and thus provide information about your network environment.

TTo Configure Hosts

1.In Expert Mode, go to: Configuration>Network>Host Tables. The Host Tables form appears.
