Operating the expansion card

ÊInsert the expansion card fastened to the removal tool in the PCI slot.

ÊClose the slot lock (see pos. #2 in figure 28 on page 109) by folding it down. Make sure that the slot lock engages.

ÊIf necessary, connect the cables on the expansion card.

ÊActivate the expansion card using either the relevant PCI hot-plug software or by pressing the light-pipe switch (see pos. #1 in figure 28 on page 109).

The light-pipe switch flashes green. The slot is in the enable sequence.

ÊWait until the light-pipe switch is constantly green. The slot is now powered on.

IIf the light-pipe switch continues to flash, an error has occurred.

Remove the expansion card and repeat the procedure as described above.

ÊClose the server (see "Opening/Closing the server" on page 134).
