Using the Printer

■Memory Card Error Codes

Error codes 11, 13, 17, and 18 apply only to flash memory cards.

Error code		Meaning
MEMORYCARD err 01	•	You attempted to write more than 32 MB of data to a
Press CONTINUE		memory card. Or, the capacity of the memory card
		installed in the printer is more than 32 MB.
	•	A data name not existing on the memory card is
		specified. Check the data names on the memory card.

MEMORYCARD err 02	•	This memory card cannot be used by this printer.
Press CONTINUE

MEMORYCARD err 03	The memory card is not a JEIDA card. Only JEIDA
Press CONTINUE	Ver. 4.2 memory cards can be used by this printer.

MEMORYCARD err 04	The card is an S-RAM or flash card which cannot be
Press CONTINUE	used by this printer.

MEMORYCARD err 05	There is no battery in the memory card. Replace the
Press CONTINUE	battery in the memory card with a new one.

MEMORYCARD err 06	The memory card is write-protected. Cancel the write-
Press CONTINUE	protection of the memory card.

MEMORYCARD err 07	The memory card requires formatting. Format the
Press CONTINUE	memory card from the control panel (☞ P. 60).

MEMORYCARD err 09	The capacity of the memory card is insufficient. This
Press CONTINUE	error code appears when an attempt is made to write
	more data on the memory card than available memory.
	To halt the writing of data, first stop data transmis-
	sions from the computer, and then press the printer’s
	CANCEL key.
	Press the FORM FEED key if the message Waiting
	will appear in the message display. The message dis-
	play will return to Ready.

MEMORYCARD err 11	The memory card is full of data. The number of data
Press CONTINUE	which can be written on the memory card is limited to
	127. Pressing the CANCEL key will restore the mes-
	sage Ready in the message display.

MEMORYCARD err 13	This is a logical error. Try substituting another flash
Press CONTINUE	memory card.

MEMORYCARD err 17	The flash memory card cannot be written due to
Press CONTINUE	insufficient printer memory. Either delete unnecessary
	macros and/or fonts stored in the printer, or expand the
	printer’s available memory.

MEMORYCARD err 18	This is a write error. Try substituting another flash
Press CONTINUE	memory card.
