Document Organization

This guide is divided into the following chapters.

Chapter 1 Introduction Use this chapter to learn about the features and specifications of the HP Integrity rx4640 server.

Chapter 2 Controls, Ports, and LEDs Use this chapter to learn about the locations of the external controls, ports, and LEDs on the server.

Chapter 3 Powering Off and Powering On the Server Use this chapter to learn about powering the server off and on.

Chapter 4 Removing and Replacing Components Use this chapter to learn how to remove and replace the field replaceable components (FRUs) on the server.

Chapter 5 Troubleshooting Use this chapter to learn about troubleshooting problems you may encounter with the server.

Appendix A Parts Information Use this appendix to learn the location and part numbers of the server components.

Appendix B Operating System Boot and Shutdown Use this appendix to learn about booting and shutting down the operating system on the server.

Appendix C Utilities Use this appendix for information regarding the utilities available for the server.

Appendix D Console Setup and Connection Use this appendix to learn about the process for setting up a console session and connecting to the server.

The name of a keyboard key or graphical interface item (such as buttons, tabs, and menu

 

items). Note that Return and Enter both refer to the same key.

Emphasis

Text that is emphasized.

Bold

Text that is strongly emphasized.

Bold

The defined use of an important word or phrase.

ComputerOut

Text displayed by the computer.

UserInput

Commands and other text that you type.
