3Choose Configuration Utility > Communications > 802.11 Radio > Security.

4For Network Authentication, choose Open.

Intermec recommends using Open.

5For Data Encryption, choose WEP.

6For Network Key Setting, choose Enter Key and Index.

7For Network Key Value, enter an ASCII key or a hex key that is either 5 bytes or 13 bytes long depending on the capability of the radio.

Disabling Security

If you choose not to use security with your WLAN, you need to disable it on the CK30. By default, static WEP is enabled. Intermec recommends that you always set security in your network.

To disable security

1For Network Authentication, choose Open or Shared.

2For Data Encryption, choose Disabled.

Saving Your Configuration Changes to Flash Memory

If you want to save your configuration changes through a cold boot, you need to save your changes to the flash memory. You can save your changes to flash memory by:

Using the Configuration Utility main menu.
