*A plane (also called an image) is a single pass of the OPC drum (one toner color). For exam ple,
a black-only, single-sided (simplex) print job makes one pass, and a two-color (duplex) pr int job
makes four passes. A single-sided color page (also called a face) consists of four passes of the
OPC dru m, since most color print jobs use al l four toner col ors. A two-sid ed color page may con sist
of up to ei ght passes of the OPC drum, since m ost color print job s use all four toner colors. Stated
consum able lif e is expressed at 5% in simplex letter/A4 page s. A dupl ex page is equival ent to two
simplex pages.
The numbe r of sheets/f aces printed shown on the startup page differs from the number of sheets/
faces printed statistics in CrownVi ew. The numb ers on the start up page refe r to number of sheets/
faces printed during the lifetime of the printer. The numbers in CrownView refer to the number of
sheets/faces printed to date duri ng the cur rent consum ables tracking period.
