Color
Color Match
Purpose Selects colo r or mon ochrome print ing.
Choices Enabled (se lected) —Full color (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black)
Disabled—Monochrome (black only)
Default Enabled (sel ected)
Notes The Di sabled set ting is designed only for t ext and gray scale gra phics.
If Color is disabl ed, the Composite Black set tings ar e not available
(grayed-out).
Purpose Select s the method fo r col or matchi ng.
Choices Disabled—No color matchi ng is applied by the prin ter driver.
Use Windows’ matching—Applies the color matching provided by
ICM-based applications (for example, PhotoShop and CorelDRAW ).
Use Driver’ s m atching—Uses the driver’s ICC color profile files to apply
color matching to bitm ap object s. W hen select ed, the dr op-down list for
Images, Graphi cs, and Text all ows you to sel ect from the fol lowing choices:
Perceptual—opt imized for printing photogr aphic i m ages. Colo rs that are out
of the printer's gamut (colo r range) are rep laced with the clos est colo r wit hin
the gamut. When this substitution is made, other specified colors, whether in
the printer's gamut range or not, are equivalently adjusted so that the overall
image appearance and contrast is maintained.
Colormetric—optimiz ed for printing spot colors, such as l ogos and single
soli d colors where hue accuracy is crucial. For tho se colors that can’t be pr o-
duced on the printer, t he closest color the print er can produc e is subst it uted.
Saturation—optimized for printing presentation graphics, such as overhead
transpare ncies, spot colo r and text, and documents requi ri ng a high le vel of
color satur atio n . With this selection, the i ntensi ty of the co lors is mos t closely
matched.
Default Use Driver’s m atching.
Notes The ICC pr ofi le file (DL220012. ICM —1200x600 resoluti on) i s locat ed in t he
\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\COLOR di rec tory (Windows Me/98/9 5) or in the
\WINNT\SYSTEM32\SPOOL\DRIVERS\COLOR directory
(Windows 2000/NT4).
