Independent Mode Control Dialog Box

From the Independent Mode Control dialog box you can :

•Download all faxes and voice messages from the modem to the PhoneTools Inbox.

•Download only new files.

•Clear the modem’s memory.

On startup, PhoneTools reads the modem’s memory to determine whether any new messages or faxes have been received. If new messages or faxes have been received, the Independent Mode Control dialog box appears (Figure 3-2). The Independent Mode Control dialog box is updated every few seconds to show new messages and faxes and the amount of free memory.

The upper portion of the Independent Mode Control dialog box displays the cur- rent status of the modem’s message memory, including:

•Quantity of remaining memory.

•Quantities of total and new voice messages stored in the modem

•Quantities of total and new faxes stored in the modem

Use the lower portion of the Independent Mode Control dialog box to copy messag- es and faxes from the modem to your computer, and to free up memory by deleting them from the modem.

Note: Because MessageSaver memory capacity is limited, we recommend that you periodically delete stored messages and faxes.
