4.1.3Other Console Main menu options

Besides the Network Configuration option, the Console Main menu of the KVM s3-1621 and KVM s3-1641 appliances have the following menu items: Security Configuration, Firmware Management, Enable Debug Messages, Restore Factory Defaults, Reset Device, and Exit. Each is discussed in the following section.

4.1.3.1Security Configuration

Console Password: Enable or disable the console password using security for the console (access requires an Admin account).

In the event that you forgot the password, type Help. You will be given a one-time use key to supply to technical support, who will then supply you with a one-time use password that you can use to access the Serial Port.

4.1.3.2Firmware Management

This menu contains the Flash Download selection. For more information, see Appendix

5.1on page 47.

4.1.3.3Enable Debug Messages

This menu option turns on console status messages. Because this can significantly reduce performance, you should enable debug messages only when instructed to do so by technical support. When you are finished viewing the messages, press any key to exit this mode.

4.1.3.4Restore Factory Defaults

This menu option will restore all KVM s3-1621 or KVM s3-1641 appliance options to the default settings.

4.1.3.5Reset the KVM s3-1621 or KVM s3-1641 appliance

You can use this menu option to initiate a soft reset of the KVM s3-1621 or KVM s3-1641 appliance.

4.1.3.6Exit

This menu selection will return you to the ready prompt.
