84 Section 3C: Changing Sprint Connection Manager Settings (Windows)
The following table describes the options:
Menu Item Description
Enable
Location
Services
Turn on support (by your card) for SprintLocation Services.
Note: To use SprintLocation Services, your account must also be
configured appropriately. If you are unable to use SprintLocation
Services, see “SprintLocation Services Aren’t Working or Don’t Seem to
Be Available” on page105 or contact Sprint Customer Service
(page14).
Display GPS
Receiver
Show or hide the GPS Receiver window (page58).
Display GPS
Welcome
Display a welcome window whenever you initiate
Sprint Location Services.
Auto Start
GPS on
connect
Start an NMEA output stream whenever your card connects to
the network. (For more information on NMEA, see “What is
NMEA?” on page99 and “When do I need to use NMEA?” on
page 99.)
For this option to have effect, either Enable Network Adapter
(NDIS) (page 81) must be selected, or Launch when Windows
starts (page 79) and GO automatically when ready (page 81)
must be selected.
Note: Use this option only if you're using NMEA output all the time. This
option results in slower device data performance.
Display
'Location &
Search
Services' on
the menu
Show or hide the Sprint Connection Manager menu item that
displays the “Sprint Nextel Location & Search” window. For
more information on this window, see “SprintLocation
Services” on page 55.
Do not show
NMEA Privacy
Consent
Prevent a “Privacy Consent Agreement” window from
appearing every time you use NMEA. For more information,
see “What is NMEA?” on page99 and “When do I need to use
NMEA?” on page99.
