h.Set the generatorcontrolsfor a maximumoutput power.

i.Tunethe CENTERFREQUENCycontrotto bring the signalto center screen. The REF LEVELmay hav6 to be variedslightlyto obtain a convenienton-screendisplay.

_- j. Reduce the generator output power by 1 dB. This allowsenoughof an adjustmentrangeto piovidea 10 dB incrementin powerlevellater.

k.Use the Spectrum Anatyzer'sREFERENCE LEVELand AMPL CAL controlsto positiontho signal peakat a convenientgraticuleline,thenpressSAVEA.

l.Disconnect the Spectrum Analyzer from the 10 dB attenuator,and connectthe power sensorto the attenuator.

m.Establisha referenceby pressingdB[Ref on the powerrnet€r.

n.Without disturbing any settings, remove th€ 10 dB attenuatorand reconnectthe cabledirectlyto the powersensor.

o.Resetthe generatorcontrolsfor a +10 dB power meterreading.

p.Disconnectthe cablefrom the power sensor,and connectit to the SpectrumAnalyzerRF lN.
