11.1 Using Your TroubleshootingGuide

Should your Impact or Impact SCS telephonefail to operate properly,
or if you do not understand why it is operating in a certain manner,
reviewthe following Troubleshooting Guide for help.
SYMPTOM POSSIBLE CAUSE
INTERCOM lighti s
flashing. Yourmessaging is set. Dial
INTERCOM,then#02andhangup.
MESSAGElight (models
8312S, 8324S)
or
HOLD light (models 8012S,
8024S) is flashing.
Another telephone has activatedyour
messagewaiting light.
Press MESSAGE(or INTERCOM and
then HOLD) to retrievemessage. This
action will call the party who activated
light. Once you havereceived message,
party who activatedlight (while still
talking to you) must press INTERCOM
to turn offt helight.
MUTE light is on. MUTE is activated.
Tocancel, press MUTE.
SPEAKER light on steady. Background music feature activatedeven
though you may not havebackground
mustic provided. Dial INTERCOM then
#1andhanguptocancel.
Error Tone
(three steady tones) May occur when incorrectbuttons are
pressed during autodial or speed dial
programming.For example, if a button
has a line assigned to it, it is not available
as a programmable button andan error
tone sounds if it is pressed during
programming.
Youcan not receive a voice
announce call. Voiceannounce block has been activated.
Tocancel (if desired), dial INTERCOM
then #2.
