Using multi-zone configuration

Using REMOTE IN/OUT and TRIGGER OUT jacks for Zone 2, Zone 3, and Zone 4

You can use the REMOTE IN/OUT and TRIGGER OUT jacks of this unit for Zone 2, Zone 3, and Zone 4 as well as the main zone. Refer to “Using REMOTE IN/OUT jacks” and “Using the TRIGGER OUT jacks” on page 38 for more information.

REMOTE IN/OUT jacks

This unit is equipped with two REMOTE IN and REMOTE OUT jacks. You can use the REMOTE IN/OUT jacks to control this unit or other component from Zone 2, Zone 3, or Zone 4.

Some Yamaha models are able to connect directly to the REMOTE OUT jack on this unit. If you own these products, you may not need to use an infrared emitter. Up to six Yamaha components can be connected as shown.

TRIGGER OUT jacks

This unit is equipped with two TRIGGER OUT jacks. You can turn on and off the component corresponding to the selection of the input source of the desired zone or turning on and off the desired zone. Use “Trigger Output” in “Manual Setup” to set the functions of the TRIGGER OUT jacks (see page 114).
