Quick Tour

1. Verify that the [DRUM]/[BASS] status keys are lit. Then set the [DRUM], [BASS], and [MASTER] faders to the 0 (dB) position.

If the [DRUM]/[BASS] status keys are out, press them to turn them on.

The drum sound and bass sound of the rhythm section are sent to the respective faders which function as an internal mixer. Use the [DRUM]/[BASS] status keys to turn the respective sound on or off, and use the [DRUM]/[BASS] faders to adjust the level.

2. Press the [SONG] key in the rhythm section.

The indication "SongNo0E EMPTY" appears on the display.

The rhythm section can operate in "pattern mode" or "song mode". Use the [SONG] key and [PATTERN] key in the rhythm section to switch between the two modes.

When the indication "SongNox" (where x is the song number) is shown on the display, the rhythm section operates in song mode.

HINT

Immediately after pressing the [SONG] key or [PATTERN]

key, the [RHYTHM] key in the display section flashes.

3. Press the [RHYTHM] key in the display section.

The [RHYTHM] key stops flashing and stays constantly lit. The rhythm section is no longer linked to the recorder section and can be operated independently (referred to as “rhythm machine mode”).

When the rhythm section is in this condition, rhythm patterns and rhythm songs can be programmed and edited.

4. Press the REC [O] key.

The REC [O] key lights up and rhythm patterns, chords, and other information can be input into the rhythm song. The counter in the bottom right corner of the display shows the current position (measure/beat).

5. Use the cursor up/down keys to bring up theindication " PTN" on the display.åPTNEOS

Normally, the second line of the display in this mode shows the number of the pattern entered at the current position. However, for an empty rhythm song there will be no rhythm pattern information. Therefore the indication "EOS" (End of Song) is shown instead of the pattern number.

6.Press the [INSERT/COPY] key in the rhythm section.

The indication "INSERT?" appears on the first line of the display, and the rhythm pattern number and the number of measures are shown on the second line.
