6. To select the MIDI channel to be assigned to the internal bass program, use the cursor left/right keys to bring up the indication “SMF ChToBass” on the display, and press the [ENTER] key.

7. Turn the dial to select one of the settings listed below, and press the [EXIT] key.

No SMF playing information is sent to the bass program.

The playing information of the selected MIDI channel is sent to the bass program and not to the MIDI OUT connector.

HINT

The factory default setting is “9” (MIDI channel 9).

8. To return to the main screen, press the [EXIT] key

several times.

SMF playback

You can select any SMF imported into a project and play it

as follows.

1. From the main screen, press the [UTILITY/TRACK EDIT] key in the display section.

The utility menu appears.

2. Use the cursor left/right keys to bring up the indication “UTILITY SMF” on the display, and press the [ENTER] key.

The indication “SMF IMPORT” appears on the display.

3. Use the cursor left/right keys to bring up the

indication “SMF FILE SEL” on the display.

4. Press the [ENTER] key.

The display changes as follows, allowing you to select an

imported SMF for playback.

5. Turn the dial to select the SMF, and press the [EXIT]

key.

The file is selected, and the display returns to the condition

of step 3.

6. To return to the main screen, press the [EXIT] key several times.7. To play the SMF, press the PLAY [R] key.

The SMF is played in conjunction with the recorder section/

rhythm section.

NOTE

When playing an SMF, the recorder section/rhythm section will always be activated, regardless of the [RHYTHM] key status (on/off).

The beat information contained in the SMF is disregarded. Locating a measure/beat in the song of the MRS-1266 may therefore lead to a mismatch with the measure/beat of the SMF.
