External Water Tank Feature:

This unit is equipped with a secondary “External Water Tank” feature. (tank quick connect to be installed by customer)

The main unit is inclusive of a factory installed “quick connect” fitting located at the rear of the unit. When the external tank is connected to the main unit, it will increase total running time/operation (air conditioner & dehumidifying modes only) up-to approximately 12 hours (depending on relative humidity conditions) utilizing both tanks.

It is possible to operate this unit utilizing the “Internal” (primary) water tank only. (However, running time/operation will be reduced) If the external water tank is not connected to the main unit, water flow will be automatically directed into the internal water tank.

During air conditioner & dehumidifying modes, (external tank attached) condensed water accumulates in a pre-cooler drip tray located underneath the evaporator (cooling) coil. When the water level reaches a predetermined level, the water flow is directed (first) into the (secondary) external water tank. When the water level inside the external tank reaches a predetermined level, the water flow is reversed and re-directed into the (primary) internal water tank. The water level inside the internal tank is monitored/controlled by a float switch mechanism (safety shut-off) self-activated when the water level reaches a predetermined level, causing the unit to stop/cease (air conditioning/dehumidifying) operation automatically. The fan motor will continue to operate. (this is normal)

NOTE: The float switch mechanism (safety shut- off) is activated/controlled by the water level inside the (primary) internal water tank only.

If the external water tank is not connected to the main unit, water flow is automatically directed inside the internal water tank.

NOTE:

The quick connect fittings supplied with both the main unit and external water tank are "self-sealing" connections.

This means as soon as the quick connects are "disconnected", water flow between the main unit and external water tank stops immediately.

External Water Tank Instructions:

1.Attach the water tank support tray (with factory installed castor) to the (2) saddle brackets located at the rear (lower section) of the unit, using the screws provided. See Fig. 35

IMPORTANT NOTE: In the event the original screws supplied with the unit are misplaced and to avoid damage to the sealed (cooling) system, never use replacement screws longer

than 16mm (5/8)

2.Remove the (male) quick connect fitting located inside the external water tank and attach it to the female receptacle/port at the rear of the external tank, tighten moderately. See Fig. 36
