Select one reference radio for each equipped antenna per LAC. If possible, select the farthest right-hand voice radio (not setup radio) in shelf 2, 3, or 4 of the primary radio channel frame (PRCF). If there is an antenna in the PRCF that does not have an associated transmitting radio, select the farthest right-hand radio in shelf 2, 3, or 4 of the growth radio channel frame (GRCF) as the reference radio for that antenna.

Connect a test cable of known loss to the Test Set ANT IN port. Connect the other end of the test cable to the Base Station TX SIG MON jack corresponding to the first reference radio.

• The command

is issued to the Base Station to turn on all radio

transmitters.

Turn off all radios by switching the AUTO/OFF switch to OFF.

Turn on the reference radio by switching the AUTO/OFF switch to AUTO. Adjust the potentiometer on the reference radio front panel for a −39 dBm TX SIG MON output. Once power is set, turn off the reference radio by setting the AUTO/OFF switch to OFF. Disconnect the Test Set from the SIG MON jack.

Remove the Test cable. Connect a test cable between the Base Station Antenna Output and the Test Set RF IN/OUT port.

Turn on the reference radio. Adjust the LAC preamplifier for maximum power, for minimum power, and finally to the desired power as defined in the frequency plan for the reference radio. Turn off the reference radio.

The next series of steps is to turn on the radios, one at a time, set the power of each radio using the potentiometer on the radio front panel, and then turn off the radio. The power is determined by the power setting defined for that radio in the frequency plan.

Once the power has been set on all radios, the restore commands are issued to the radios to turn off all transmitters.

Disconnect the cable between the Base Station Antenna Output and the Test Set. Reconnect the Base Station Antenna Output to the foam jumper.
