CLI Command To create a OSPF virtual link, use the following command:

(configure router:ospf)# area <area-id> virtual-link <router-

id>

Parameter Defines the...
Router ID Router ID for the far end of the virtual link.
Area Area ID through which the virtual link travels .
Transmit Delay Estimated number of seconds it takes to transmit a link
state update packet over this virtual link. The value range
is 1-3600. The default is 1.
Retransmit Interval Number of seconds between link-state advertisement
retransmissions for adjacencies belonging to this virtual
link. This value is also used when retransmitting database
description and link-state request packets. The value
range is 1-3600. The default is 5.
Hello Interval Time in seconds between the Hello packets that the router
sends on the virtual link. This value m ust be the same for
all routers attached to a common network. The value
range is 1-65535. The default is 10.
Dead Interval Time in seconds that a router’s Hello packets have not
been seen before it’s neighbors declare the router down.
This should be some multiple of the Hello interval. This
value must be the same for all routers attached to a
common network.The value range is 1-65535. The default
is 40.
Authentication Type of authentication available for use on a given OSPF
interface. Authentication types include:
• None (default)
• Simple Password
• MD5 Authentication
Authentication Key Authentication key for the Area.
MD5 Key ID MD5 authentication key ID as a decimal value. The
values range is 1-255.
