21 21Using the Brother MFC with

aNew Power Macintosh® G3, G4 or iMac™ /iBook

Set up Your USB Equipped Apple® Macintosh® G3,G4 or iMac™ with

Mac OS 8.5/8.51/8.6/9.0

Note Before you can connect the MFC to your Macintosh® , you must purchase a USB cable that is no longer than 6 feet (1.8 meters).

To work with your MFC, your USB-Equipped Apple® Macintosh® must be set up with Mac OS 8.5/8.51/8.6/9.0. (The Brother Scanner Driver works only with Mac OS 8.6/9.0)

Installing the Brother Printer

and Scanner Drivers

1Turn on the power to your Macintosh® and wait for the startup process to be completed.

2Insert the Brother CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive. The window below will appear automatically.

3To install the Printer and Scanner Drivers, click

MFL Pro Driver Installer.

4After installation is completed, connect a standard USB cable to

both the MFC and the Macintosh® .

Note Restart your Macintosh® so it can recognize the new drivers.
