Configuring SPAN for Port Monitoring on a Set/Clear

Command−Based IOS

To configure the Set/Clear command−based IOS switch for SPAN, follow these steps:

To enable SPAN, use the set span enable command. The syntax for this command is as follows:

set span enable|disable

To enable SPAN for port monitoring, you must identify the source module, source port, destination

module, destination port, and (optionally) whether you want it to monitor received frames, transmitted

frames, or both. The syntax for the command is as follows:

Note RX stands for Receive, TX stands for Transmit.
