Note The asterisks in this example indicate that the addresses are in hexadecimal. The ATM LANE module does not list these addresses with this command.

Configuring the LES/BUS

Follow these steps to configure a LES/BUS for two ELANS—the default ELAN and ELAN2:

1. Enter Global Configuration mode on the LANE module:

ATM#configure terminal

Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.

2.Enter Interface Configuration mode for the ATM0 interface, subinterface 1, and indicate whether the link is point−to−point or multipoint:

ATM(config)#interface atm0.1 point−to−point

3. Make this subinterface the Ethernet default LES/BUS and identify the ELAN:

ATM(config−subif)#lane server−bus ethernet ELAN2

Note You cannot configure more than one LES/BUS per subinterface.

4.Repeat Steps 2 and 3 for each LES/BUS you want to configure on this LANE module.

5.Enter Interface Configuration mode for the ATM0 subinterface 2:

ATM(config−subif)#interface atm0.2

6. Map the LES bus to the Ethernet ELAN named ELAN2:

ATM(config−subif)#lane server−bus ethernet ELAN2

ATM(config−subif)#end

Verifying the LES/BUS Configuration

To verify the configuration, issue the following command:

ATM#show lane server

LE Server ATM0.1 ELAN name: default Admin: up State: operational

Configuring a LEC for an ELAN

Follow these steps to configure two LECs for two ELANS—the default ELAN and ELAN2:

1. Enter Global Configuration mode on the LANE module:

ATM#configure terminal

Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.

2. Enter Interface Configuration mode for the ATM0 interface, subinterface 1:
