Hub segmentation is controlled by the master

 

hub. When the master hub completes its ini-

 

tialization, it will restore any prior segmentation

 

of the hubs. Therefore, if you are using a

 

switch or bridge to join different segments, be

 

sure to enable the IEEE 803.1d Spanning Tree

Logging in to the Hub Console

The DFE-2600 series master hubs support user-based security that allows you to prevent unauthorized users from accessing the hub or changing its settings. This means that before you can access the functions of the hub, you will need to first log into the hub, providing a password. This section tells how to log onto the hub, and how to change your password.
