devices.

TFTP

Trivial File Transfer Protocol; a low-overhead

 

protocol for file transmission over TCP/IP net-

 

works. Often used for obtaining device

 

configuration files or bootstrap image files.

Trap

An SNMP request that managed network devices

 

send to network management stations, to inform

 

them that some problem has been detected.

Twisted-pair

Wire such as is commonly used with telephones

 

consisting of pairs of copper wire usually termi-

 

nating in an RJ-45 or RJ-11 connector.

UTP/STP

UTP – unshielded twisted-pair, twisted pair wire

 

without interference shielding. STP – shielded
