Installing the RAID Battery

CAUTION: Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You should only perform troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as directed by the online or telephone service and support team. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that came with the product.

1Insert the RAID battery into the battery carrier until it locks into place. See Figure 3-26.

2Connect the cable to the battery. See Figure 3-26.

3Close the system. See "Closing the System" on page 85.

4Reconnect the system to its electrical outlet and turn the system on, including any attached peripherals.

Control Panel Assembly—LED

NOTE: This section applies to twelve–hard-drive systems only.

Removing the Control-PanelModule–LED

1If applicable, remove the front bezel. See "Removing the Front Bezel" on page 82.

2Turn off the system and attached peripherals, and disconnect the system from the electrical outlet and peripherals.

3Remove the single screw securing the bracket to the module and remove the bracket.

4Disconnect the control-panel cable at back of the module by using the pull tab. See Figure 3-27.

CAUTION: Do not pull on the cable to unseat the connector. Doing so can damage the cable.
