
Configuring Remote Dial-In Access

Introduction
The Digi CM supports dial-in connections from remote sites for out-of-band access. In this configuration, the Digi CM has serial ports configured for external modems and waits for dial-in connections from remote sites. If you dial-in using a terminal application, the Digi CM accepts the connection and displays a menu of available serials ports. In a dial-in terminal server mode, the Digi CM makes a TCP connection with either a Telnet or SSH client to a pre-defined server. RawTCP is also an option for dial-in users.

Configuring For Dial-In Modem Access
To configure a serial port for a dial-in modem, enter the values for these fields: Host mode, Modem init string, and Inactivity timeout. To access the Host mode configuration screen, do the following:
1.Access the web interface.
2.Under the Serial port heading, choose Configuration.
3.Choose a specific port under Individual port configuration and then choose
Host mode configuration.
4.Select Dial-in modem for the Host mode in the drop down menu.
5.Fill in the appropriate fields as they apply to your configuration.
