1.3 DESCRIPTION OF MON2000
MON2000 is a menu-driven, Windows-based
software program designed to operate the gas
chromatograph (GCs). MON2000 runs on an
IBM-compatible personal computer (PC) and
serves as an interface between you and the GC
unit. MON2000 can run on a Windows® 95,
Windows® 98, Windows® 2000, Windows® XP
or Windows® NT operating system.
MON2000, combined with the GC applica-
tion(s), offers a complete software package for
operating and monitoring one or more GC
systems from a single PC. MON2000 includes
security features to help prevent unauthorized
access to GC data or control. MON2000 also
includes, for trouble-shooting purposes, an
auxiliary program (WinMB) to selectively poll
the GC Modbus registers (see Section 10 for
more information).
GC functions that can be initiated or controlled
by MON2000 include:
alarm parameters
alarm and event processing
analog scale adjustments
•analyses
baseline runs
calculation assignments and configurations
• calibrations
component assignments and configurations
When configured for RS-485
multi-drop networking,
MON2000 can interface with
up to 32 GC units, either in a
stand-alone configuration or via
a network.
When configured for
Ethernet networking MON2000
can interface with a number of
GC Units limited only by the
number of available TCP/IP
addresses.
