Chapter 6: CM402 Center Section

The CM402 Center Section module (Figure 6-1)is located to the left of the CM401 Master Section (which contains the Center Strip). The purpose of the CM402 is to ex- pand access to Center Strip channel’s functions so they are more readily available. It includes the following functional sections, from top to bottom:

Bus Routing Panel

Bus routing for the Center Strip’s channel. See Bus Routing Panel on page 80.

Aux, Input, and Filters knobsets with select panel

The Select Panel determines which functions of the Center Strip’s channel are displayed on the knobsets.

Dynamics and EQ knobsets

The Center Strip channel’s dynamics and EQ are always displayed on these knobsets.

Channel Select Panel

Assigns a channel to the Center Strip.

Eight assignable Strip faders

Although traditionally used for Control Groups, any channel can be assigned to them using the same techniques to assign a channel to a Strip on the CM408.

Any channel on the console can be displayed on the Center Strip by pressing its Wave key. The Channel Select Panel can also assign channels to the Center Strip.

Once a channel has been assigned to the Center Strip,
