Because of chassis airflow disruption, a power supply module bay should never be empty for more than two minutes when the server power is on. Possible damage to system components could result if the bay is empty for more than five minutes.
If your server is configured with only one power supply module, an active fan blank must be installed in the second power supply module bay.
