
Installing drives
2 If you are replacing a failed drive, determine which drive has failed by checking the drive status LEDs on the front of the drive carriers.

Before you remove a failed drive, use the appropriate software and
Caution utilities installed on the server to stop all activity on the failed drive. Instructions for using the software are provided by the software manufacturer. Failure to do so may destroy the data on the drive.
3 Remove the drive carrier by pressing the drive latch and pulling the drive tray lever to the right (away from the server), then pull the tray straight out of the server.
4 If you are replacing a hard drive, remove the four screws that secure the hard drive to the drive carrier, then remove the drive from the carrier.
