With this option you can select whether to load your original in the center of the scanner or aligned to the right. See loading preferences on page 44.
auto-size method
There are two methods the scanner software can use to detect the length of the image: Paper detects the end of the paper by mechanical means, while Image performs a prescan of the image and uses software to work out the length of the prescanned image. The Paper method is quicker because it doesn’t require a prescan; but the Image method may be more accurate (if the paper is longer than the image).

This option is provided so that you can set a maximum to the auto- detected length of an image.
