Your phone line might not be working. Disconnect the fax from the phone jack on the wall and connect a phone. Try to make a phone call to verify that the phone line is working.

Outgoing fax calls dial repeatedly. The fax automatically redials a fax number if the Redial On Busy option is set to ON, or if the Redial On No Answer is set to ON.

This is normal operation. If you do not want the fax to retry sending faxes, set Redial on Busy to 0 (see “To set redial-on-busy” on page 84) and set Redial On No Answer to 0 (see chapter 4 of the User Reference Guide on the CD-ROM for more information).
