Some media types have been tested, have proven to be of good quality, and work well with the MFP’s settings. For a list of these media types and settings used to achieve the best quality, see “Recommended media” on page 165. For best results, use HP-brand media, which has been designed to provide optimal performance with HP MFPs.

It is possible for paper to meet all of the guidelines in this manual and still not produce satisfactory results. This might be the result of improper handling, unacceptable temperature and humidity levels, or other variables over which HP has no control.

Before purchasing a large quantity of print media, make sure that it meets the requirements that are specified in this user guide (“Recommended media” on page 165)Always. test media before purchasing a large quantity. For more information, see www.hp.com/go/ljpaper.

Using non-HP-brand media

The MFP can also use non-HP-brand media that falls within the specifications for supported media (see “Supported types of media” on page 164, and see “Supportedmedia sizes for input and output” on page 173). Using non-HP brand media will not damage the MFP or void the warranty if the media meets those specifications.

Caution Using media that is outside of HP specifications might cause problems that require MFP repair. This repair is not covered by the HP warranty or service agreements.
