| Support - Using SAM |
|
| To use SAM to configure HMP for Local Failover Support, complete the |
|
| following steps: |
Step | 1. | Start SAM. |
Step | 2. | Select the “Networking and Communications” area. |
Step | 3. | Select “HyperFabric.” |
|
| All HyperFabric adapters installed in the system are listed; installed |
|
| adapters that are not yet configured show Not Configured in the |
|
| “Status” field. Before proceeding to the next step, configure all the |
|
| available adapters. |
Step | 4. | Pull down the "Actions" menu and select "Configure Local Failover for |
|
| HMP". SAM now verifies the following: |
•If not all the adapters are configured
•If the number of adapters configured are odd
•If “Interoperability Enabled” is set to YES
If any of the above conditions is true, then SAM displays an appropriate error message. Otherwise, the “Configure Local Failover for HMP” window pops up.
Step 5. In this window, specify the configured adapters for each card pair and press OK.
On pressing OK, SAM verifies the following:
•If HyperFabric subsystem is not running on the machine
•If all card pairs are not configured
•If you have chosen the same adapter for different card pairs
If any of the above conditions is true, SAM displays an appropriate error message. Otherwise, the
/etc/rc.config.d/clic_global_conf file is updated with information about the configured card pairs. If
