Panic command

Command: /maint/panic

The panic command causes the switch to immediately dump state information to flash memory and automatically reboot.

To select panic, at the Maintenance# prompt, enter:

>> Maintenance# panic

A FLASH dump already exists.

Confirm replacing existing dump and reboot [y/n]:

Enter y to confirm the command:

Confirm dump and reboot [y/n]: y

A list of messages is displayed:

Starting system dump...done.

Reboot at 11:54:08 Wednesday October 30, 2006...

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Rebooted because of console PANIC command.

Unscheduled system dumps

If there is an unscheduled system dump to flash memory, the following message is displayed when you log on to the switch:

Note: A system dump exists in FLASH. The dump was saved

at 13:43:22 Wednesday October 30, 2006. Use /maint/uudmp to extract the dump for analysis and /maint/cldmp to

clear the FLASH region. The region must be cleared before another dump can be saved.
