Infrared
Aline-of-sight pass-through opening in the dock permits infrared (short-range wireless) communication between the docked computer and certain peripheral devices, such as a printer. The distance between the dock and the device must be less than one meter.
Keyboard
The 6-pin Mini-DIN connector directly supports PS/2 or PC AT keyboards through an adapter cable. Keyboard signals are available on the docking connector to permit the use of an external keyboard when the computer is docked.
Auxiliary Port
The AUX connector is a 15-pin male D-Sub connector that can serve as a third 3-wire COM port providing TXD, RXD, and GND. This connector also provides a general purpose open-collector output on pin #11 and a general purpose TTL/CMOS compatible input on pin #10.
AC Power
AC power is available through an ac power adapter. This allows the dock to be operated from standard electrical out- lets using an appropriate power cord to the adapter.
