5.2Modem Configuration

5.2.1Modem Power

Connect the power cords of each modem to a power supply and turn all modems ON.

5.2.2Modem Firmware and Hardware Requirements

For the CRS-300 1:10 Redundancy Switch to operate correctly, it is important that all Traffic Modems and the Redundant Modem must be of the same model. In addition to matching hardware requirements, the Redundant Modem must have the same software revision and installed options so that the it can properly mimic all Traffic Modems.

SLM5650/5650A Firmware and Hardware Requirements: In order to support the desired redundancy, the appropriate firmware must be loaded in the SLM-5650/5650A base modem, Network Processor (if applicable) and CRS-300.
