UTPST Overview
The Globalstar User Terminal Program Support Tool
(UTPST) lets you view, change, and save infor mation
pertaining to a Globalstar User Terminal (modem or phone).
You can:
• Configure system settings (that is, serv ice program),
either directly via the UTPST’s graphical user interface,
or by writing scripts that access the UTPST’s Scrip ting
API.
• Save configuration settings to a UTPST f ile or open them
from a file.
• Swap or transfer configuration settings from one modem
to another.
• Configure and generate summary data file s.
• View modem information or statistics.
• Upgrade modem software.

This section tells how to connect the Diagnostic cable to a
modem in preparation for us ing the UTPST.

TO CONNECT A MODEM TO A PC FOR USING THE UTPST
1. Connect the Diagnostic cable to the Diagnostic port on the
modem and to an available COM port on your PC, as
shown in Connecting the Dia gnostic Cable on page 2-7.
