4.Select Scan to OCR box check box (
). The automatic recognition configuration dialog box appears. This dialog box lets you configure several parameters of automatic text recognition.
The controls in this window are described below:
Language | It allows you to recognize English only. |
Text Type | If you select Auto, the OCR programme will detect the type of text |
| automatically. If you are recognising typewritten or matrix printed |
| texts, set the corresponding text type to increase recognition |
| accuracy. |
Page Formatting | This group of radio buttons defines how your page is formatted. |
Text Layout | Lets you indicate the layout of your text. If you select Auto, the OCR |
| programme will detect the layout automatically. Select Single |
| Column if your text is formatted as single column. |
Tables | This group of check boxes lets you define formatting of tables. |
Keep Pictures in Text If this check box is selected, the pictures will be kept with text.
Text Saving Parameters If you select Organized, the text files will be saved in a folder named according to today’s date inside the base folder. Files are named with consequent numbers. You can set path to the base folder using the Base Folder edit field. You can also click Browse... to point the folder using the browse window. If you select Always Ask, you will be prompted for file name each time the programme needs to save a new file.
5. When you finish the configuration, click OK.
