5 CTS Clear ToSend Used by the DCE to indicate if it is
readyto receive data from the DTE.
When CTS, DSR, RTSand DTR are
ON, the DCE is readyto transmit
data receivedfrom the DTE across
thecommunications channel. When
onlyCTS is ON, the DCE is ready to
accept dialing or controlsignals
only.When CTS is OFF, the DTE
should not transfer data across
TXD.
6 DSR DataSet Ready Used by the DCE to indicate if it is
readyto operate. When DSR is ON,
theDCE is connected to the line and
readyto exchange further control
signals to start data transfer.

8 DCD Data Carrier Detect Usedby the DCE to indicate it is
receivinga suitable signal from the
communications channel.
