Advanced Print Features
Inserting the media
1.
Adjust the guides to the width of the media you are using.
2.
Insert the media with the side to be printed face-up and the top of the page
entering the printer first.
3.
Do not overfill the Multi-Purpose Tray: keep the media to just below the
limit indicator.
Capacity in the Multi-Purpose Tray varies, depending on media thickness.
These are general guidelines:

Enter the appropriate media type in the front panel; the currently selected
media is marked with an asterisk (*):

In the application’s Print screen under Tray Selection or Paper Source,
depending on the driver, select the Multi-Purpose Tray and send the job to
the printer.

For instructions on loading specific types of media, refer to “Loading specialty
media in the Multi-Purpose Tray” on page 15.

■Laser paper: 100 sheets
■Tektronix transparencies: 50 sheets
■Tektronix glossy coated paper: 75 sheets
■Card stock: 30 sheets
■Laser labels: 30 sheets
■Tektronix fabric transfer: 1 sheet
■#10 Envelopes: 10 envelopes

The printer waits a minute for you to select a media type in the front panel. After a
minute, the job prints, using the previously selected media type. Selecting the
wrong media type will result in poor print quality.
