Inserting the media

1.Adjust the guides to the width of the media you are using.

2.Insert the media with the side to be printed face-upand the top of the page entering the printer first.

3.Do not overfill the Multi-Purpose Tray: keep the media to just below the limit indicator.

Capacity in the Multi-Purpose Tray varies, depending on media thickness.

These are general guidelines:

Media type		Tray capacity
■	Laser paper:	100 sheets
■	Tektronix transparencies:	50 sheets
■ Tektronix glossy coated paper:		75 sheets
■	Card stock:	30 sheets
■	Laser labels:	30 sheets
■	Tektronix fabric transfer:	1 sheet
■	#10 Envelopes:	10 envelopes

4.Enter the appropriate media type in the front panel; the currently selected media is marked with an asterisk (*):

MPT: Paper		*
<---	--->	OK

N O T E

The printer waits a minute for you to select a media type in the front panel. After a minute, the job prints, using the previously selected media type. Selecting the wrong media type will result in poor print quality.

5.In the application’s Print screen under Tray Selection or Paper Source, depending on the driver, select the Multi-Purpose Tray and send the job to the printer.
