Setting media thickness

Because the printer accommodates varying media weights in the Multi-Purpose

Tray, you can manually select a media thickness for the most reliable paper-picking.

The Media Thickness Switch is only applicable for the Multi-Purpose Tray.

1.

Open the left side door. The blue Media Thickness Switch is located on the

paper feeder and has three settings:

a. Thin
b. Medium
c. Thick

Move the switch to the setting for the desired media. Use the guidelines in

the following table to determine which type of media requires which

setting.

If the printer experiences frequent media jams at the Multi-Purpose Tray, move the
Media Thickness Switch to a thicker setting. If the printer experiences frequent
double-feed errors at the Multi-Purpose Tray, move the Media Thickness Switch to a
thinner setting.
