TDS1000/2000-Series Digital Oscilloscope User Manual 113
NOTE. The oscilloscopevertical response rolls off slowly above its
bandwidth (60 MHz, 100 MHz, or 200 MHz, depending on the model,
or 20 MHz when the Bandwidth Limit option is set to On). Therefore,
the FFT spectrum can show valid frequency information higher than
the oscilloscope bandwidth. However, the magnitude information
near or above the bandwidth will not be accurate.
Knobs
VERTICAL POSITION Knobs. Use the VERTICAL POSITION knobs to
move the channel waveforms up or down on the screen.
VOLTS/DIV Knobs. Use the VOLTS/DIV knobs to control how the
oscilloscope amplifiesor attenuates the source signal of channel
waveforms. When you turn a VOLTS/DIV knob, the oscilloscope
increases or decreasesthe vertical size of the waveform on thescreen
with respect to the ground level.
Key Points
GND Coupling. Use GND coupling to display a zero-volt waveform.
Internally, the channel input is connected to a zero-volt refere nce
level.
Fine Resolution. The vertical scale readout displa ysthe a ctual
Volts/Div setting whilein the fine resolution setting. Changing the
setting to coarse doesnot change the vertical scale until the
VOLTS/DIVc ontrol is adjusted.
