Math FFT
This chapter contains detail ed information on how to use the Math
FFT (Fast Fourier Transform). You can use the FFT Math mode to
convert a time-domain (YT) signal into itsfrequency components
(spectrum). You can use the Math FFT mode to view the following
types of signals:
HAnalyze harmonics in power li nes
HMeasure harmonic content and distortion i n systems
HCharacterize noise in DC power supplies
HTest impulse response of filters and systems
HAnalyze vibration
To use the Math FFT mode, you need to perform the following tasks:
HSet up the source(time-domain) waveform
HDisplay the FFT sp ectrum
HSelect a type of FFT window
HAdjust the sample rate to display the fundamental frequenc ya nd
harmonics without aliasing
HUse zoom controls to magnify the spectrum
HUse cursors to measure the spectrum
