Test Considerations

To ensure proper instrument operation, verify that you have selected the correct power line voltage prior to attempting any test procedure in this chapter. See page 22 in chapter 2 for more information.

For optimum performance, all test procedures should comply with the following recommendations:

œVerify the function generator is set to the default power on state (power on default). A procedure is given on page 41.

œMake sure that the calibration ambient temperature is stable and between 18 C and 28 C.

œMake sure ambient relative humidity is less than 80%.

œ Allow a 1-hour warm-up period before verification or adjustment.

œUse only RG-58 or equivalent 50W cable.

œKeep cables as short as possible, consistent with the impedance requirements.
