•Select 0 for higher speed for most communications with the MSC.
•Select 1 for slower speed if problems arise in communications with the MSC.
12.MSC ECP Number
This parameter specifies the number of the ECP that controls the cell site to be tested.
13.SP9 Baud Rate [valid test set range]
This parameter specifies the baud rate to be used for communication between the PC and the Test Set SERIAL 9 port. Valid rates (bps) are: 150, 300, 600, 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600, 19200, 38400, and 57600. This setting must match the setting used by the PC communication program. Use the DATA ENTRY keys to enter a value. The default rate is 9600. However, the Test Software will operate most efficiently at 19200, so it is recommended that you enter that value. For more information, see “Configuring the Test Set and PC Serial Ports for Communication with the Test Set” on page 29.
14.SP9 Data Length [7 or 8]
This parameter specifies the number of bits to be used for the serial communication data link between the PC and the Test Set SERIAL 9 port. This setting must match the setting used by the PC communication program. Use the DATA ENTRY keys to enter a value. Enter 8. For more information on using this parameter, see “Configuring the Test Set and PC Serial Ports for Communication with the Test Set” on page 29.
15.SP9 Flow Control [1=None 2=Xon 3=Hw]
This parameter specifies the type of data flow control to be used for the serial communication data link between the PC and the Test Set SERIAL 9 port. This setting must match the setting used by the PC communication program. Use the DATA ENTRY keys to enter a value. For more information on using this parameter, see “Configuring the Test Set and PC Serial Ports for Communication with the Test Set” on page 29.
•Enter 1 for no flow control. No flow control is strongly recommended for the 19200 baud rate.
•Enter 2 for Xon/Xoff flow control.
•Enter 3 for hardware flow control. This setting must be used for baud rates of 38400 and above.
